MD-11 installation problem: setup.exe "quit working"

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm running FSX with Windows 8. Today I bought and downloaded the PMDG MD-11. I unzipped the file, but when trying to run the PMDG_MD11_FSX_Setup.exe, instantly after (almost simultaneously with) the InstallShield Wizard window, the installation crashes with Windows announcement "Setup.exe quit working [...] Windows will close the program and tell, if there is a solution to the problem". (My OS is in Finnish, so in English it might be a bit different, but I guess you now the scene.).

I've tried restarting the computer, re-downloading the file, all the possible compatibility modes, running as administrator and normal user. Every time, the result is the same. I tried to google this, and surprisingly I didn't find anything.

I would be most thankful for ideas.. I have quite a lot of add-ons, including PMDG 737-800, and encountered no (such) problems before.
