Patching problems

Featured Replies

hi,I got a small problem regarding the new patch: Can't install. It's giving me "Callback 0D" or "callback OD". I tried on a clean and "Dirty" install of Fs2004. Please help me.System:P4 1700mhzGeforce 3512mb RamWin2k Prothank you in advance.Martin

What do you mean by a clean or dirty install of FS2004? Do you have FS2004 loaded several times on your computer? What does your Windows Registry say is the location of FS2004?Does the installer start anything or does it fault as soon as the opening installation menu appear or after you press the OK button?W. Hello Martin,I had the same (extremely frustrating) problem. It even overcame my reluctance to go through a fresh reinstall of FS2004, probably as in your case (I postponed this necessary evil too long; but what the heck, I wanted to get rid of the hardly used FS2002 anyway). However, the problem remained after a fresh install of FS2004.Rage...Dispair...Frustration... till I tried a very old voodoo recipe:(you have to keep chanting "oooommmm" during the whole process otherwise it might not work!): 1) click on the right mouse button while pointing on the patch exe file 2) select properties 3) in the compatibility tab, select the windows 95 compatibility mode and click "OK" 4) execute the patch. Then (drum rolls) the patch installs (at least for me).I am really exilarated to have been able to patch a patch (a real first timer for me!); I also beat on of my gurus, W. Sieffert, at it (the man who's knowledge shared on these forums saved my day so many times).I hope it might save your week-end.Could this problem result from the fact that we use a FS of another language version than the OS (FS in English and XP SP2 in French in my case)?Sincerely,Tagada

I had the same problem, but after I put the patch file in the FS9 main map and run it from there it worked.Kent.

Dear Kent (Clark Kent?)I must concede yours is a better solution! (it saves chanting and drum rolls). And it explicitly mentioned in the "Installing the Update" topic on Microsoft's FS page (my super-vision isn't what it used to be)!!!Thank you!Tagada

well, Thanks Kent it work now :D
