July 14, 200322 yr For those of you into NWA's a330 the first Mega-Poodle("..is big, is cute, is French...") arrived in KMSP last Friday around 13:00 Local, ship number 3302. It will be flown on airline, station, crew and route quals till September when the model will be put on-line doing DTW-AMS turns. The a330 will be doing non-revenue turns between Detroit and Amsterdam on Aug. 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-22, or 21-23 to test the IFE(in-flight entertainment) and to observe or, if seated in World Business Class (WBC), evaluate the functionality of the new WBC seat. The above flights are open to about 100 NWA employees and 40 KLM employees who have to burn vacation days or sched days off to fly on it. Somehow I think there will be a line-up to go.In other NWA trivia, NWA is withdrawing the a320 from Orient flying and putting 757s in that market in September.Tim757(Wnder if we will start calling the a319 the toy-poodle, a320 the miniture-poodle and the a330 the Standard poodle?)
