I agree - 8 gig is tongue-in-cheek - but I do expect six. You're dead right, Jim - I reckon the 2600K-2700K  procs have been the best bang for the buck I've ever had - being at five gig for a number of months now, with the 2600k, - Les Hesly, too, with his 2700K, and smooth and stable. Yours can do this as well, and you'll notice a difference, if you were to push it that extra 600 meg - even at 4.7, you'll see a marked improvement.

 

I've been looking at the 6xx series boards, but I think they don't have enough oomph over the 580. That 580 is still a heck of a good card for fsx. The problem is one of keeping up with the technology - a never-ending chore, and that means, really a 780 or Titan, bypassing the 6xx - and if so - we have to marry it to something better than what we currently have, memory included.

 

Again, as you say - "Now it's time to move onward and upward!"
