DX10 Street Lights in ORBX scenery on and off randomly...

Recommended Posts

Is there a fix for this? As I fly around, large collections of streetlights turn on and off. I hope this is not one of those "cant change it" issues because I would hate to abandon pixel perfect AA, 30 fps stutter free beautiful ambient light flying. Arrrggggg.

Hi Charles,

Did you try turning the Orbx lights on/off with the FTX Day/Night switch?

Charles,

From what I've heard, there is good news and bad news.  The bad news is that as of right now if you have FTX lights set to "on" you will get this problem.  I prefer to fly with them off personally.  I'd rather do that than go back to DX9.  Even in DX9 the lights will fade bright to dim, instead of off and on, so the effect is similar.

The good news is that FTX has announced that there will be a fix for this with their upcoming release of FTX Global.  Not sure if they will offer just the DX10 lights fix if you don't purchase FTX Global, but lets hope so.

Thanks guys. Holding out hope. Man the DX10 thing needs more support and awareness. It is the future if people would adopt! Its nearly flawless. I mean wow. You kidding me? Flying in the rural areas with 60 fps locked and dizzingly smooth panning with track IR. Its what we've All been looking for. Its right here under everyone's noses. It just needs the last few items knocked out and devs could easily patch add ons with the occasional missing texture call. Why its not the biggest news in fsx is beyond me.

Real air planes love DX10 as does pmdg js41. Carenado could change upup some of their paint jobs to have better performance. The b200 uses more resources than it should compared to better plane models out there. Easily fixed if people demanded it. If the js41 can maintain 30 fps locked landing ksea then the b200 sure as hell should.

We need a petition!

Ya I just like those street lights. They are soooooo perty. :) Sigh. I wish ORBX cared about DX10 more. I might go back to DX9 and test Shader Mod 3
