Gentlemen,

 

I have a fellow simmer and VATSIM friend, who bought the 747 download on my recommendation when I sold him his new i7 PC recently.

 

Now, I have been using the 747 since it was released and all my PMDG products are downloads and I have never experienced validation issues such as the one I see now.

 

Initial contact, with PMDG, provided a glimps into the problem in that the validation system saw the order as for FS9 not X and this was rectified but it still does not want to validate and I resorted to inject myself into the ongoing e-mail conversation.

 

The reason for this thread is to throw the issue in the open and to allow others to join the concversation.

 

As this is a brand new I7 3770K based PC with 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD, NVidia 660Ti and Windows 7 HP 64-bit, to name a few specs, There is not much on it. He uses Nod32 Anti-virus with the Windows Fire-wall.

 

Every single time we click on the validation button during the installation it fails and tells us to close the program and try again.

I even used MSConfig and booted with no 3rd party stuff, into a clean Windows, but no luck.

 

We re-downloaded the installer and even tried my own old trusted one but without luck.

 

Can the client's ISP and DNS have something to do with this problem?

- I was wondering if the installer can actually see the validation server???

 

What else can we try?

I have just had this problem with the validation page hanging, solved in the end by shutting down the anti-virus software, not an ideal solution but it worked.
