Question on installation of FS Global 2010

Featured Replies

Hi!

I own this product, but haven´t installed it yet.

During the installation of many (mainly airport) sceneries, you have the option to choose if there is an addon mesh product installed or not.

i always chose "no".

What would be the negative consequences, if I would install FS Global now?

Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, if you have two mesh products covering the same geographic area, FSX will simply choose to display the mesh with the higher LOD (resolution) for that area. Problems can come into play if a particular airport is built upon a mesh that has a lower LOD than what FS Global 2010 may install, particularly if that airport scenery doesn't use an appropriate flatten command or has a lot of terrain really close to the airport (i.,e. some bush strips mostly).
