Hi, this wont work as the FS engine doesn't read BGL files and eliminate duplicate sceneries that cover the same area as it goes. Interestingly, it does do this with terrain mesh, and will default to the mesh file with the highest data resolution. Your best option is to look up this guide which tells you which files to eliminate from MSE 2.0 state sceneries when you have an Ultra-Res scenery in addition for that state (not all combos available but a good number are): http://pcaviatorforums.com/index.php/topic/1004-mse-20-and-mse-ur-cities-file-exclusion-database/

Hello there. Just found this thread and reading through it. We have not had any other users report this issue around the area you mention. I tried myself flying out of EBSU and no crashes. If the file itself was bad, then everyone would get the same result. This is not the case. There may be a corruption of the file, but this would be only local to you, and if this was the case, must have happened during either download of the file (less likely) or the unpacking of the file (more possible). The error is with the util.dll file as per your crash log. Unfortunately this .dll error pointer seems very hard to pinpoint to anything judging by what I have seen. Some users suggest it may have to do with particular scenery files, other users say it has something to do with AI traffic, and there are many other potential reasons, but no general consensus on the issue. As mentioned, if it was an inherent problem with the file, every user would have the issue, but this is not the case. I am not sure what we can do on our side here. Photoscenery products are some of the least buggy types of scenery out there. Sort of like HDMI cables, they either work or they do not. I am not sure what more I can suggest from here as there appears to be no one fix for those types of crashes, short of trying a full re-install of FSX, but that's a last resort due to the time and effort that takes. You could also try scrapping your MSE Belgium files and re-downloading a fresh set. We have had one customer who had a crash issue in Oregon that was sort of similar, but only he had the problem. We could not find the problem there either. We sent him a copy of the scenery on our backup disks and for whatever reason, that fixed it, but it didn't really make sense. If we get a large number of MSE Belgium owners reporting this same issue, then obviously we would investigate further, but this has not been the case to date. Perhaps try redownloading as a start?

Hard copy production has been largely discontinued as far as I know, so hard copies will be getting very scarce, very soon. Retailers can no longer buy copies from most Microsoft distributors around the world. Prices will be going up on boxed copies of FSX GOLD.

Hi again Christiaan, Re Lake and the airport, what you are seeing there is perfectly normal, because the border of Switzerland and France runs right through that lake, and not far from the Airport either. So you only see the MSE Switzerland textures for the area that is actually Switzerland. Any French or Italian area will not have photoreal scenery provided by MSE, because these areas and not in Switzerland! So you are likely not missing anything in Switzerland at all, and possibly nothing in the others. Just ignore the filename sequences. Check your actual scenery in your sim. If you have missing textures, or see default textures, and you are actually within the coverage area for the scenery title you have installed, then you might like to investigate further.

Christiaan, All our tiles appear to be there? The Germany North one was missing yes (and hence an update was issued)... but the others, all seem to be there, and no one else is reporting them missing 9and hence no update needed). Can you do a search for all your hard drives for the term "MegaSceneryEarth" and let me know how many folder hits you get please, and the location of these folders? Christiaan, Probably more importantly, not every scenery has properly sequenced files. I.e. MSE scenery will often have groups of files that appear to be missing because it is not a continuous file naming sequence. Even though you may appear to be missing some in regard to actual filenames, you have to actually go into your flight simulator, take a top-down, zoomed out view, and then actually look if any areas are indeed still showing default scenery. Try that for Germany North to begin with, and then check the others you think have missing files... Actually look at the scenery and see if any areas are actually missing. Feel free to post your top-down screenshots too

Gary, Not so fast jumping to incorrect conclusions please! These things take time. Now, we got a reply from FWI, so it does not seem they are out of business. I will message you the details as they contain registration details for your eyes only, but Allan from FWI has apparently also emailed you some instructions. No problem Dugald.

The response is on page 1 of this thread I posted several times about the update and then mentioned it was ready to download. Glad the problem is solved.

Nico, If the scenery has all installed to your hard drive (i.e. C:/MegaSceneryEarth) then you will need to manually add the MSE scenery to your P3D Scenery Library. The install manager will only do this automatically for FSX, but for P3D, you have to add manually. It usually only takes a minute to do so. You will likely get multiple instances of that scenery.cfg file error when you install the files, but you can just ignore those. Manually add the scenery to the scenery library in P3D.

Gary, Thanks for the update. If the US team has requested the username/password from FWI, then unfortunately that is all they can probably do at the moment and wait for a reply. If FWI controls the database for registered users or the registration server for their products, then the end retailer probably cannot access that and solve the problem directly. Please allow them time to get a response from FWI. If they cannot get a response within 3-5 days and we cannot resolve the issue, I am sure the US team will be happy to offer you a refund if you cannot install the product due to an issue with the developer. I'll send them another email and see if they have made contact with FWI regarding your issue as yet. Sorry I cannot do more for you from here.

Dugald, Ok you should be able to access the v3 files for both of these. Just use the same download links. New filenames will indicate version 3 packages. Note we still need to update the product page text, but you can download the v3 files straight away while we work on that. Any problems, let me know.
