July 3, 201312 yr I have REX and Ezdoc. I'm looking for the best Weather Add-on out there. I've heard nothing but good things about Opus, but that add-on has a camera configuration like Ezdoc. Should I keep what I got, should I add Opus or get another Weather Add-on? Thanks in advance!
July 3, 201312 yr Hello, Difficult to say whether REX is better than Opus, or the other way round. They are both 'top of the bill'. I use REX for textures and Opus as standard weather engine. Think Opus is more user friendly. If you want to keep Ezdoc for camera's, you can disable the camera function in Opus. Why not give Opus a try? Regards, René René Bongers
July 3, 201312 yr I certainly would NOT forget about OpusFSX only because you have Ezdoc already! Why would you? You have REX but still you are looking for a better weather add-on: in that same regard you could say you have Ezdoc but still you are looking for a better camera add-on. Imho Opus is the better/best weather engine and I personally also think the camera part of OpusFSX is better then Ezdoc. OpusFSX uses/calculates/whatever real effects depending on what's happening around you: Ezdoc simply randomly shakes and wobbles the camera a little. For SOME uses Ezdok may be better (creating video's in which you want camera's to fly around every possible object in FSX) but for 'normal' use the OpusFSX camera is way better. And yes, I also own Ezdoc: don't have it installed anymore. Imho it's way easier to create new views with OpusFSX and it specially is FAR more precise. In Ezdoc it's already quite a task to get the default view as it was before you installed Ezdoc. (And I think I can know because I wrote some tutorials for Ezdoc way back then.) (I have to add that I didn't use the camera part of OpusFSX for a long while because it didn't work well with my TrackIR but that problem has been solved with the latest versions.)
