Problem with tuning Nav radios

Featured Replies

Hi there!

I finally got my new headset (Plantronics Gamecom 780) and ATC interaction with RC4 works now like a charm!

In the Coolsky DC9, I have a different problem now:

Checklists and flows are good, but if I command the F/O to tune the Nav radio to a frequency, he confirms what I said, but nothing is done. Even of I repeat that a few times, he always answers stuff like "affirmative", "I will take care of that", etc., but still nothing happens. Two minutes later or so, he finally tunes the radio and confirms what he has done as any times as I commanded it before. Quite strange...

Setting headings, tracks or altitude works flawlessly.

Thanks for your help in advance!

This appears to be a multi-threading related issue.

In order to simulate human behaviour we can't just let FO execute commands like a machine gun.

When FO is dialling something, his hand is officially tied. If you ask him to dial something else, he will queue it in his head and execute it right after the first dialling action is done with.

For commands involving flipping switches, he could take 2 or 3 in a row but no more.

When he seems to be stuck, just say "Attention", "Execute" or say the FO name "William", "Clive" and all those variables keeping track of how many commands are in progress and the FO busy state are reset to zero, allowing FO to proceed further.

Ok, thanks for the explanation. I'll give it another go tonight and this time, I will pay closer attention if the F/O is still busy with a flow or anything by the time this happens again.
