FSX PC Homebuild Mobo

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Here's my first post on Avsim regarding my first ever home build (FSX oriented). I still need to choose a Mother Board. Hopefully my parts list so far isn't too far off. Please take a look and let me know what you think regarding my current parts and a Mother Board suggestion. I've been on stock pc's since 2003 when I first started simming. I can't wait to finally build a machine that doesn't crash!

As this is my first build please don't be afraid to criticize my wishlist!

Thank you!

asus Z87 Deluxe inexpensive and powerful.

Haswell is very picky about memory. Team ddr3 2600 and Geil Corsa ddr3 2666 were the only memory that would boot into 2400MHz without error on MemTest 86.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to keep researching to see what I can come up with.

Agree with the ASUS Z87 Deluxe

Also agree you need a little faster memory.

My recommendation on the SSD (assuming that's where you are going to put FSX) is upgrading to at least 250 GB.  That thing fills up fast.  My 500 GB FSX already has 165 GB on it.
