October 26, 200421 yr For some reason I am getting the "green curtain" mesh effect in my scenery around KLGA and KHPN (Westchester). I have these huge elevation differences around these areas. I have tried to locate offending mesh bgl files but no luck yet. I was last in these areas near the end of September and it was OK then. Not sure whether the FS9.1 upgrade did this or not. Any help or suggestions appreciated. Thanks!Airbus Al Kaupa Digital Storm purchased 8/17/2011; Win7x64: Asus P8P67 Deluxe; Intel i7 2600K@3,9 GHZ; nVidia GTX 560Ti; 8GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator; Power Corsair HX 750W; Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD; 300GB WD VelociRaptor; 1TB Seagate.
October 26, 200421 yr AirbusOn my setup a combination of Bear Mountain Mesh and TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL 21 will produce this effect in the NYC area. If I either remove the mesh or change TMVL to 20 the curtain goes away.I tried changing other FS9.CFG TERRAIN_ settings to see if they would make a difference but changing TMVL to 20 is the only setting that will affect it.For now, I have unchecked that particular mesh in the Scenery menu and left TMVL at 21.
October 26, 200421 yr Bob,Thanks for your help; that did the trick. I left my TMVL at 21 and removed the mesh. I guess there are some tradeoffs that we have to get used to. I wonder if we will run into this problem elsewhere in the world.Airbus Al Kaupa Digital Storm purchased 8/17/2011; Win7x64: Asus P8P67 Deluxe; Intel i7 2600K@3,9 GHZ; nVidia GTX 560Ti; 8GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator; Power Corsair HX 750W; Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD; 300GB WD VelociRaptor; 1TB Seagate.
October 27, 200421 yr Other ones have been reported but this is the only one I have seen so far. There was a very humorous post last year about the curtain phenomenon. The poster referred to it as "the thing". I tried to find that particular post again but couldn't.
