DX10 Graphics Problem

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Recently I'm trying out the DX-10 preview mode. However, FSX just does not look right. It looks very dark and somewhat too crispy.

My specs are: i7 [email protected], GTX 660 with 16GB ram, running Windows 7 x64.

Please see the screenshots below, any ideas are welcome.

Thanks,

Zicheng

"any ideas are welcome."

Our ideas would be helped if you would post your system specs, Zicheng,    (and any overclock), RAM timings, etc., in your profile, so that we can see them under your name and Avatar (at left).

The other thing is - anything we suggest would just be a guess, as we don't have an fsx.cfg to look at. Use the "More Reply Options" (bottom-right), copy your fsx.cfg and rename the copy as "Zicheng_fsx.txt", and then attach it using the method supplied in the More Reply Options.

Are you using SweetFX, or Shade, ENB Series, or other scenery or graphics addon?

I assume, too, that FSX/DX9 looks lighter than this?

Thanks,

Hi Paul,

My specs are i7-3770k running at 4.5Ghz. I used Sweetfx and ENB before, however it should have been disabled because I deleted the d3d9.dll in fsx folder that came with ENB. My fsx.cfg is at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/58117713/fsx_DX10.cfg

BTW, I tried to let FSX generate a all new fsx.cfg, that didn't work.

Thanks,

Zicheng

EDIT: That problem was caused by SweetFX's residual in FSX. After cleaning up all SweetFX stuff, the color became normal. Just one more question, is there a way to turn on AA for Nvidia cards in DX10 yet?

Thanks

Zicheng Cai

Nope!

Glad you got the SweetFX settings corrected - it works quite well in FSX-DX10!

The dxgi.dll and dxgi.fx are the two that apply to DX10, Zichend.

All the Best,
