July 25, 201312 yr Stephen or Cheryl could you answer this for me please. To get Opus weather working in fsx, do I just run it via server and select opus weather in fsx? Or if I select clear weather will Opus still work? I am still getting over speeds of a bout 1 second duration during a flight about 5-6 times? I have weather smoothing enabled etc. Thanks Wayne Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
July 26, 201312 yr Commercial Member Our recommended FSX settings are ... FSX menu option - Options, Settings, Weather, set to Custom (set slider bar to left). Click on the Customize button. Select the Weather tab. Untick Download winds aloft data with real-world weather. Tick Disable turbulence and thermal effects on the aircraft unless you wish to see wing flex. Set the Rate at which weather changes over time to No change (set slider bar to left). FSX Free Flight, Weather Set your FSX Current Weather to any weather theme, just don't enable the real world weather options. Are you are flying with the sim rate speeded up, especially above x2, then it is possible to get wind shifts. Have you tried the usual fixes for wind shifts? The easiest configuration is to set your Destination, Max Cruise Altitude and enable Adjust Options Automatically. If your system has wind shifts enable the Adjust Sim Friendly Options, if your system has severe wind shifts then enable the Use Maximum Stabilisation option too. If, and only if, your system still experiences 'major' wind shifts during the cruise then you can also set the Stabilised GRIB Data option. Cheryl
July 26, 201312 yr Author No I have the Opus weather them in fsx itself, the only reason I ask is I am getting half a dozen over speeds during a flight they only last for a second or two then go back to normal. July 26, 201312 yr Commercial Member It's OK to have the Opus weather theme selected, it will still work. You could also read our Wind Shifts topic. Cheryl
