Shader 3.0 and DX10

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just a quick question - Should I have the "ALLOW_SHADER_30=1" line ind the config file for DX10. I read somewhere that wave animation does not work correctly if this line is included.

Thanks in anticipation

The initial FSX release included DX9 with Shader Model 2, with the DirectX 9-class GPU's around at that time being the Nvidia GeForce 6600 and 6800 series and the ATI Radeon 9500/9600, 9700/9800, X300/X600 and X800 cards.

The line enables the later versions of DX9 to use Shader Model 3, and has no relationship with DX10.

DX10 uses SM 4.

Microsoft DirectX Graphics & Gaming.

All the Best!
