Big sound problem

I finally have (had) FSX screaming along with zero issues and overclocked system with sensational FPS, and then.......I ran repair to sort out a few minor issues which it did, But and there always has to be a but, Repair messed up my sound configuration Button

When I press the config button nothing happens and if I make any adjustments to the sliders I get A CTD straight away

This is a tough one, and re installing repair didnt fix it and a Clean install is not an option!! I have to much stuff 

I still get sound through the headphones, just no speakers to select for my sub woofer.

Anyone have any ideas?
