Runtime error 6 with open flight plan (.pln) RC 4.3

Featured Replies

I just installed version 4.3 but everytime I try to open a flightplan, with the left button on the left side, I have a Runtime error 6 and RC closed after that. So what's wrong? I use Windows Vista.

B.t.w. I'm using FS9. Just for your information.

You are using the fs200x plan button on the left, correct? Does the .pln file list?

Error 6 means a value in the plan is out-of-bounds. What is your flight planner? Please paste a copy of a .pln file in a reply here.

Here is a workaround for some applications that produce this error if they also support FSX. RC accepts both FS9 and FSX plans.

First be sure you are using RC4 build 3845.

If you can export from your planner an FSX plan you can do this. In the folder where you have your Flight Simulator Files (usually under your documents) create another folder named Flight Simulator X Files. Save the FSX format.pln file to this new folder.

In RC browse to this new folder and load the FSX .pln file from there.

See if this works for you. I'll know more when you use notepad or wordpad to copy/paste your .pln file in a replay here.

Some users have tried to load a file formatted for a proprietary FMC gauge which will not work with RC.

Hi,

I'm using FSNav for my flight plans. Yes the map with the .pln files list. But after choose a file I have that runtime 6 error. This is the .pln file http://www.mediafire.com/?81fd4v7xwrs15t4

B.t.w. this work around is for FSX but I have FS9.

I loaded your .pln file as downloaded into RC without an error:

Be sure your .flt/.wx path is correct as well.

I have a more detailed error info. It's Runtime error '6'

RadarContact.rcv4module.get_departure_information

I loaded the plan you sent and started RC with an FS9 flight created at a GA parking ramp at Ibiza. I did not get any error.

Here is the .pln you sent:

[flightplan]
title=LEIB to LEAL
description=LEIB, LEAL
type=IFR
routetype=1
cruising_altitude=16000
departure_id=LEIB, N38* 52.37', E1* 22.39', +000022.97
departure_position=PARKING 6
destination_id=LEAL, N38* 16.93', W0* 33.49', +000141.08
departure_name=Ibiza
destination_name=Alicante
waypoint.0=LEIB, A, N38* 52.37', E1* 22.39', +000022.97,
waypoint.1=NINOT, I, N39* 12.53', E0* 29.00', +000000.00,
waypoint.2=COMPI, I, N39* 21.05', W0* 0.47', +000000.00,
waypoint.3=VLC, I, N39* 29.14', W0* 28.98', +000000.00,
waypoint.4=LEAL, A, N38* 16.93', W0* 33.49', +000141.08,

Have you tried other airports? Have you updated makerwys.exe and run it from within RC4?

Please check the following opening each file (using open with to specify the app) in the rcv4\data folder. Do not modify or save. Just search for LEIB and copy/paste the relevant lines in a reply.:

r4.csv

a4.csv

f4.csv

m4.csv

We are looking to see if LEIB made it into the database.

I have the Aerosoft Balearic Islands installed so my LIEB data below may look different from yours:

r4.csv:

LEIB,0060,38.866936,1.358847,23,63.040,9176,0,148,-1.000,38.872837,1.373125,0,,
LEIB,0240,38.878738,1.387403,23,243.040,9176,109.50BG,148,-1.000,38.872837,1.373125,0,,

a4.csv:

LEIB, , 38.87284 , 1.373125 , 1 , 23 , 9176

f4.csv:

LEIB,Ibiza,0,0,121.80,118.50,0,0,118.12,119.80

m4.csv:

LEIB,485,6000

This is your departure data but from my database.

Next we will check the flightplan built by FSBuild:

[flightplan]
title=LEIB to LEAL
description=LEIB, LEAL
type=IFR
routetype=3
cruising_altitude=22000
departure_id=LEIB, N38* 52.22', E001* 22.23',+000024.00
departure_position=06
destination_id=LEAL, N38* 17.00', W000* 33.30',+000142.00
departure_name=IBIZA
destination_name=ALICANTE
waypoint.0=LEIB, A, N38* 52.22', E001* 22.23', +000000.00,
waypoint.1=NINOT, I, N39* 12.31', E000* 28.59', +000000.00,
waypoint.2=COMPI, I, N39* 21.02', W000* 00.28', +000000.00,
waypoint.3=VLC, V, N39* 29.08', W000* 28.59', +000000.00,
waypoint.4=LEAL, A, N38* 17.00', W000* 33.30', +000000.00,

-----------------------------

Copy/paste the .pln above into notepad saving it as a text file named LEIB-LEAL.pln and see if you can load and execute it.

Now to be clear, before you press the start button in RC you have loaded the flight parked at LEIB with the aircraft clock or other avionics running, correct?

Try some of this out and see if any works. We are looking for scenery database errors or .pln format errors.

Looks like it works. I just forgot makerwys.exe. But another error pops up when I use RC in FS9 and after I clicked the 'run quit RC' button in RC. This is the error: Run-Time error '75' RadarContact.fsuipc.rcv4code

Have you read this pinned topic?

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/100174-error-75-radar-contact-and-kapersky-and-norton/

You are being denied access either by the security software you are using (if this is delayed some security software thinks RC is a virus by its frequent access to FS) or the Win if you have not setup RC via a shortcut to run at a program access level with admin privileges.

Right click on a shortcut you create to rcv4.exe and left click on properties. Click Advanced. Click on the checkbox to set it on. Click OK, then on the properties window click Apply, then OK.

See if either or both solutions help.

Also be sure your flt/wx path is set correctly in RC general options. Do not cancel out of setting the flt/wx path browsing as it will corrupt some RC data files. Before you start RC create a folder called data-backup under RC. Into this folder copy from the RC folder rcv3.dat and keyboard.dat to restore if you encounter this problem.

Aha I see, RC had no admin privileges. I'll fix that and it works fine. Thanks!
