August 5, 201312 yr Dear FSX Community, Currently, I am working FSX AFCADS for Indian Airports using ADEX tool. All my AFCAD airports using built-in FSX stock scenery object libraries. FSX some how restricts me to use only scenery objects e.g. airport terminal buildings, hangers, etc. only from the following folder: I am not able to re-use scenery objects from the following folder locations: i.e. If I add a terminal building "airport object" used in default FSX Frankfurt airport for an Indian airport e.g. Delhi within ADEX tool, the AFCAD compiles but the airport object is not visible in FSX environment. I would be much obliged if any one of you could help on the above topic. How can I make the Frankfurt airport object visible in Delhi airport AFCAD? Are the non Global scenery objects locked to the geographic regions within FSX environment? If yes then how could I un-lock them? Thanking you all in advance... With kind regards, Inno.... PS: FSX library details can be found in http://fsxsoc.dynamicfxgroup.com/
August 6, 201312 yr This is a well known issue. Many objects in FS are 'locked' to a region. This occurs if the placement code for the object is in the same Bgl file as the object itself. As far as I know the only solution is to decompile the Bgl file containing the objects and put them into a new library Bgl file that does not contain any placement data. August 10, 201312 yr Author Dear Scruffyduck, Thanks a lot for your tip.... & the tool ADEX (a great tool indeed).... Please could suggest how to de-compile the scenery bgl file & remove the placement data... I am only familiar with traffic bgl de-compile & re-compile process for FSX. Your help is greatly appreciated :-).... Thanking you once again.... With kind regards, Inno
August 10, 201312 yr Hi and thanks You can use one of several 'decompilers' to extract the models from a file. You should not attempt to modify a stock Bgl file. For example BglAnalyzeX (available from the downloads section here) or Bgl2Xml ( )http://www.mediafire.com/download/kv3x6uzsk2tk1yd/bgl2xml_137.zip )will extract and save the models in a library Bgl file. You will then need to use a tool such as Library Creator XML (in the downloads section here or from the downloads section of www.fsdeveloper.com)to put the models into a new library without placement data. Support for Library Creator XML is available from www.fsdeveloper.com and there are many knowledgeable folks here who will know how to use that tool.
