Shadow trailing fixed (Asus monitors only)

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd share this little fix with you in case you have this problem as well.

For a little while I've had this problem where some sort of little shadow is trailing behind fast moving objects on screen, such as the mouse pointer. It will also happen during fast movements in FSX. It can be a little annoying.

I had no idea where it was coming from and thought it was some kind of driver issue, or some setting in NVIDIA Control Panel/Inspector. But it is not like that.

Today, I found it was caused by my monitor. To fix it, for Asus monitors, you have to go in Menu -> System Setup -> All Reset -> YES. And then it should be fixed.

Good luck.

I possibly had this same problem when I first got my asus 24"HD 2ms LED monitor, though "the shadow" was a white artifact which followed any quick moving high contrast object on the screen.  In my case, setting the brightness from 100 (max setting) down to 15, which was still plenty bright, solved the problem.  I considered this problem a deal-breaker and was prepared to return the monitor before I discovered the fix.  Other than that I've been satisfied with its performance.
