Leonardo MD-82 Problem With VC

Featured Replies

I bought the MD-82 after reading all the appraisal about how great of an aircraft it was.

I am having a problem within the VC:

1. I start Cold & Dark. Then I start turning on the switches on the overhead for preflight, and the displays (PFD, MFD, and FMC) turn on in the 2D cockpit, but not in the 3D cockpit. So you can see the displays running in the 2D panels, but on the 3D panels, they are black.

Has anyone else had this, and know how to counter this problem?

EDIT:

I have another problem. I installed the Leonardo MD-82 livery pack, and I put the model=vc in the aircraft.cfg to make the vc appear. The problem is my view keeps appearing between the two seats, right in front of the cockpit door every time I load up the MD-82. Therefore I have to use SHIFT+ENTER and SHIFT+CTRL+BACKSPACE to get into the cockpit seat. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this issue?

My regards,

Nathan3219

You probably need this in the [Display] section of your fsx.cfg, Nathan.

WideViewAspect=True

Paul, thanks for the advice.

I tried WideAspectView=True, but unfortunately it did not solve the issue. The displays are still black in the VC, but when I turn them on, they light up in the 2D.

have you run the configurator? You shouldnt have to manually set the VC its all in the configuration of each livery.. Dont understand the 2D and Vc gauge deal but you have turn on the brightness on the HSI and MFD displays.

Here's the setup panel - check it against yours in case you missed something - the last one is very easy to miss parts...

I looked in the configurator like you mentioned and checked the Virtual Cockpit box. This solved my second issue of where my VC view was, by default, appearing between the two seats. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the hot link to those guides! I followed the picture of the setup, and all my displays are now working in both my 2D and my 3D. The quick n dirty guide also looks like it will be a big help to me, because these systems are very impressive and complex to say the least. Now I'll finally get to enjoy the MD-82 like I've been wanting :)

Glad we could help! It's a lot of aeroplane to manage when one has only flown default aircraft, isn't it!  :lol:
