August 24, 201312 yr Yes, agree, but I think you'll find when nextgen catches up with SESAR it will gain a lot more momentum. When you have the likes of airbus prosky now influencing both ATM in order to advance the technology so they can sell more planes, add in the environmental(variable SIDS for noise, SIDS with continuous climb and optimised fuel planning) and fuel efficiencies(4D trajectory stuff) cost suddenly becomes a saving. Airports will drive to have them in place for all the benefits they need from it which forces the requirement of the airlines, and finally in the Europe it will become law, which kind of just makes it happen, just like mode S being brought in(even though that's old tech) Regards James Carr
