Kudo's to USA Roads here is what I did.

Featured Replies

First, I have not installed the FS9 upgrade. Last year I drove from Sfpld IL to apache junction in Az. I decide to see if I could repeat the same but by following only roads (USA Roads) and using the GPS to ensure I was on track.. I left my home town (KSPI) followed the Interstate 55 to ST. LOuis and on west to Santa Rose NM where I left interstate 40 and continued south west to Superior Municipal (Ea1) I followed RT 54 from Santa Rose to Vaughn where I changed to rT 60 and on and on. My flight path was interesting to say the least. Many truns. I maintained between 2500 ft and 3000 ft above grd. The flight went perfect. I used maps of each state as I flew though them. All I can say is kudo's to USA Roads. Needless to say it was a long flight. I flew the Lear when I was following the interstate and switch to the Kingair at Santa Rose to complete the flight. For those who have USA roads, try to follow the highways to your farvorite place and lets us know how it went. I would personely ike to here about others who have successfully completed the same. I know there are some problems with bridges but its a great program to enhance your flying experence. Good flying to all. KSPI

I normally fly helicopters in the sim. So this product was a hot item on my radar screen, when waiting for it to be released initially. I have already gotten my money's worth by visiting places I used to live (many...) and flying familiar roads to familiar destinations. It also allows me to finally know for sure which "hill" or "mountain peak" i'm looking at because of their location in relation to roads that I would expect to see. Terrain features in the default sim (and also sometimes in payware meshes) don't have enough detail in some cases to know for sure which small hill is which.I liked the product so much after a few solid months of use, that I bought it for my dad for his birthday. He loves it too. Except when he first installed it, he called me to ask why he couldn't see the cars, or lights, or sidewalks. (not joking). After I explained to him what the product actually was, and what its purpose was...he was more than impressed. He isn't an avid simmer, but an occasional one. Because he wasn't familiar with the product or its concept...he figured it was some type of road enhancer... he didn't realize it was about mapping accurate roads. Needless to say, he was actually happier having accurate roads, than flashy ones.He lives in farm country (Montana) so having some roads to go by makes it a lot easier to immerse in the location he is at when flying over flat terrain. Otherwise to him, it would all be the same.Jordan Moore

Small cities look like real cities not just a unknown area in the middle of the country. I'm impressed wtih the way the roads are even in the smallest of cities. . and yes, not only is my home street shown but there is a house, not mine of course, where mine is. Not bad for a add on. Even the roads that go around lakes, like are lake her can be seen. I'm sure this program can be improved but for the money it works just fine for me. Thanks for your reply.CP
