Crackling sounds from FSX

Featured Replies

I have this annoying crackling sound that has started and I can't get rid of it, I have spent my last two off days looking for the solution to no avail. I downloaded new drivers, for my onboard sound card and for my video card. I solved one issue which trying to get sound to play thru my hdmi monitor, but it to is making the same crackling sound also. I used to use headset that plugged directly into the green and pink jacks on my computer and I never had this problem at all,now when I use a usb headset this problem is prevelant as ever. If anyone has any other solutions I sure would appreciate it as I am at my wits ends. Please only respond if you are trying to help, as I have seen "some" people on here are just rude and use threads like this to pick on people who trying to get help. Thanks Oski!

Thanks, O. Skinner

Does this only happen in FSX?

Could be USB related. Are you plugged into the machine directly, or into a hub. A hub is actually a hub on a hub, since there is already an internal USB hub.

If you can isolate it, you can purchase an inexpensive PCEe -> USB card and that will give you a straight path from audio drivers to your headset.

Yes,it doesn't make the sound when I use MSTS it's perfect!

So I should switch around the headset to different usb ports to see if that works? Also do you have  a link to where I can find the device you mentioned in post? I'm going to purchase it because it might have some use later!

Also thank you for your help!

Sure. Just go to www.newegg.com and search for PCI USB and you will get a ton of hits. Your headphones are likely USB 2.0 which will be less expensive, but if you are ever thinking about getting external storage drives via USB you may want to spring for the USB 3.0 adapters.
