How to make knobs rotate faster?

Featured Replies

First of all, LINDA is just brilliant and user friendly. I really having lots of joy using it especially I'm totally no clue dealing with the lua code.

I would like to know if there any method to let the knobs rotate faster? Currently all the knob I assigned in FSX default, the rotation rate is a bit slow. I'm not referring to the response time here, the response time is ok.

Hello,

you have assigned the fast rotation to your buttons?

We have developed this with the VRInsight Combo in mind, which has rotary knobs with two stages: normal and fast.

So, you'll find two speeds for every rotary function.

But I must say, not all: Baro has no "fast" functions, also DH, GPS Zoom etc.

And I highly recommend to use such functions only with hardware rotaries with also two stages. Why? Because, the normal speed is step 1, the fast is step 10 (mostly) Just assigning fast, you will never get your wanted value e.g. HDG 256 is then not possible, when the fast function set always 10 steps.

Now, to answer your question:

open the lib-fallback.lua in Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules\linda\libs

open it with the LINDA editor or with windows editor! not with Word etc!!!!

Scroll the complete script down till "SYSTEM FUNCTIONS"

there is then -- Tuning fast rotation speeds

Here you can set the steps how fast the rotariy functions would dial if you assign e.g. HDG minusfast or ALT plusfast

Hope, that helps and was understandable
