My cockpit display freezes just before touchdown at KORD. No other airports are effected.The sound continues but the display remains frozen. The mouse cusor "hour glasses" and will move when the mouse is moved but has no effect on anything. FSX will not close untill I turn off th computer.

So far I have reinstalled FSX (both disks) and Accereration Expansion Pack. I am using only default scenery. No add ons. Could my Norton antivirus be causing this problem ?

Sounds like maybe an OOM.

 

Have you tried using task-manager to shut down fsx.exe rather than restarting your whole computer?

 

Also you can check event viewer, and in the case it wasn't an OOM, it will show you the module which caused the crash.. Allows us to help you fix your issue easier and efficiently.
