I have used ATI cards for the last 10 years.  My HD4850 recently failed.  I aquired a Nvidia GT530 as a stopgap untill I can afford a new card.  I am looking for a recommendation for my settings.  I use FS9 on a Phenom X2 545 chip with 4gigs of ram.  I am just looking for a educated starting point.  Thanks.

OK. Here is what I have so far. When I have "Transform & Lighting" off, my aircraft textures are dark & uneven as the screenies show. When I turn it on, my textures are fine but my FPS drops by about 10-12 FPS. I seem to have the flickering stopped. I really appreciate your help BTW.

Problem solved.  I found a couple of threads about using an older driver.  One mentioned 301.42.  I tried it & no more problems.  Overall faster too.  Thanks for all the help.
