I hope this is the right place to post this. I am long time simmer (FS4). Been on 2020 for about 2.5 years. My problem is I am trying to move over to 2024. The control bindings are very different from 2020. Also the settings menu is giving me fits. Every time I go into the sim, I have to reselect what profile I use. I also have to deactivate devices that I am not using. Example, for B777 I use spad so I have to deactivate the Bravo device. If I leave the sim & come back to the same plane, I have to deactivate the Bravo again. Very frustrated. Any suggestions.

Still no go on FS2020.

I run MS2020 very well for over a year. No problems of stuttering. Saturday I updated Windows 10 to Windows 11. Since then I am getting stutters. This seems to be happening with various planes. FPS is fine at around 50FPS as it was before. I have updated my drivers, cleared my various cache locations. Not sure where to go from here. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. Pat

Problem solved. Thanks allot. One question, how did you know what cities or airports are in which BGL file? I have the excel sheet with the files that are on the install disks.

I found the file but it is dated 2011 instead of 2003. I will swap the one from the disk & try.

I have recently discovered some of my Texas airports are gone. San Antonio & all the ones around are gone. Austin is still there. I am trying to figure out where on the FS2004 disc is the right files. I know the scenery files are on disc 4. I really do not want to do a full install. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a few questions with the same goal. I want to delete duplicate default AI planes flying in FS2004. I do not want to remove all AI, just the duplicate ones that look like they are flying in formation. Seems like Cessna & Learjets mostly. I have the 2 sets of bgls decompiled but do not know what to do now. I use WorldofAI for my airline traffic with no problems. 1. What is the difference between traffic.bgl & traffic30528.bgl? I have the mixture controls to full rich since the scenery is MSL. The fuel valves are open as per CTRL-SHIFT-F4. I have tried the Flight1 default situation. Nothing seems to work but uninstalling Acceleration & reinstalling SP2. Pat

I have had this problem multiple times before. I have FSX with Acceleration installed I can't start any piston engines. CTRL-E does not work. Default or 3rd party planes. Jets will start, pistons will not. If I uninstall Acceleration & install SP2 everything is fine. I have tried different startup situations, deleted my FSX config. I have had this happen on 3 different computers with different operating systems with no change. For the record FS2004 works perfect. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Pat

Problem solved. I found a couple of threads about using an older driver. One mentioned 301.42. I tried it & no more problems. Overall faster too. Thanks for all the help. Pat

OK. Here is what I have so far. When I have "Transform & Lighting" off, my aircraft textures are dark & uneven as the screenies show. When I turn it on, my textures are fine but my FPS drops by about 10-12 FPS. I seem to have the flickering stopped. I really appreciate your help BTW. Pat

I have used ATI cards for the last 10 years. My HD4850 recently failed. I aquired a Nvidia GT530 as a stopgap untill I can afford a new card. I am looking for a recommendation for my settings. I use FS9 on a Phenom X2 545 chip with 4gigs of ram. I am just looking for a educated starting point. Thanks. Pat

So I was right in dragging the localizer to the runway centerline, but by not changing the front course is where I screwed up. Pat

I moved (drag) the ILS to align it with the runway center line. I recompiled to get the new bgl in the addon scenery folder. Pat

Well I found a afcad for KJAN that solved the ILS issue. I do not know why my fixes did not work. Would still welcome any thoughts on this. Pat

Hi all, I am trying to correct the 34L ILS at KJAN in FS9. It is about 20'-40' off to the right side. I have tried AFCAD & Airport Design Editor. Although I can create the file & it is going to /addon/scenery folder, the changes do not show. When I reopen the AF_KJAN.bgl file created, the changes are there just nos showing in FS. The addon folder is defenitly active because every time I reopen FS the scenery library does it's little update. Any help on this would be appretiated. Pat Callaghan

Greetings, This has been an ongoing issue with me. I have always had a 5 degree nose up cruise deck angle. It seems to make no difference how I change my load or altitude or cruise speed. I seem to remember some versions of the Intellimouse software caused flickers but not sure which ones. There was more than one.

Yep tried compatability mode, turning off aero, running as admin. Here is an interesting side note. I am having the same problems with FS9 back in Win XP Home. I had this problem once before when I first got this machine. Some how I got it solved but for the life of me I can't remember how. I think I am getting just too old for this stuff. Thanks. Pat
