November 10, 200421 yr If you just delete the folder, it will leave a bunch of Invalid entries in the registry. Sometimes one for each item in the folder.
November 11, 200421 yr OK I ran Regcleaner and did all the items suggested and FS9 still did not work correctly i.e. I still had the same issues. So I un-installed it one more time. Ran RegCleaner and it found a couple FS9 entries which were corrected. Before I Install FS9 again is there anything else I should do to insure a "Clean" Installation of FS9?Please let me know. If this doesn't work after whatever else you guys suggest, I guess it's time to format and reinstall Windows etc... Man I really hate to do that but will if it comes down to it.This problem is starting to impact some reviews I have to do for AVSIM. I really do not feel comfortable doing a review on a product when FS9 is not working correctly, especially scenery since some of the scenery requires some of the options to be turned up.Let me know what you guys think and again, thank you so much for all the help.Eric BishopAVSIM [email protected]@avsim.com
November 11, 200421 yr I have tried both ways and it doesn't matter. That was one of the first things I thought of also since it seemed to be a graphical glitch. But it's a full blown problem and for some reason, FS9 will not allow me to change ANY options in any menues.By the way my PC is a AMD64 3400+, ATI 9800 XT with latest drivers installed 4.10 (I think), 1 gig ram running Windows XP Home. ASUS K8V SE Motherboard. The rest of the stuff is pretty generic. Thanks,Eric
November 11, 200421 yr I'll go with ponyboyz on this... suspect the drivers.A quick test... click on Start>Run and then type "smargart" (without the quotes). All read/write functions should be "on". If any of them are off then the problem is your chipset drivers.See my post in this thread for proper driver cleaning: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=4272&page=The proper method for installing drivers is Chipset>DirectX>Video Card.Good luck,Greg
November 11, 200421 yr All of them were on so it's not that. I guess I'll try and install it ONE more time. If that doesn't work it NUKE time. Thanks,Eric
