777 panel state question.

Hi

just bought the PMDG 777

can't get my head around the panel state parts of the manual.so need a little help here.

can i save a panel state so that when i choose it the engines are running.I have saved a panel state while the engines are running, as soon as i choose it the engines shut down.

maybe it's just not possible.
