  2. From what i've seen or read,the Texture popping is happening on most peoples setups. it is to do with LM optimizing the way textures are displayed. I can turn down all my settings and still see it happening.seems the Max Lod only displays the sharpest textures 3-4 miles away from your aircraft. So if you fly fast Aircraft the scenery cannot keep up. steve

I raised TWO eyebrows chas.Tried to raise one ,but they both move... on a more serious note,i imagined great things when i heard about the newest 64bit sim(cough)..it lasted less than 20 mins on my computer. i have never been so disappointed in my life. 64bit is not going to be the holy grail if it's not implemented properly. steve

I have my fps set 30 plus TBM is 30 also.it isn't a lag in loading textures as i can sit there for 15 minutes and it stays the same.this is to do with the hardcoded limit. funny enough i can now see this in screenshots,where there is a blurry line in the distance.i suppose this is as good as it gets,so no point in upgrading my hardware. steve
  7. just realised while messing with the settings that i had left it at high. that would explain why my cfg was set at 5.5. while trying to get sharper textures at a distance i did set it at Max and that didn't make any difference,so i guess that p3d max setting only goes out to about 3-4 miles . it must be more noticeable when using photoreal textures which look awful when viewed from a distance. steve
  8. I'll try that jay. just noticed it a few minutes ago.then got sidetracked. problem is once i noticed it i uninstalled that scenery and reinstalled orbx vector and Eur LC,I'm now waiting for NA LC to be released before i revisit that scenery.i will try with another airport though thanks steve
  9. Thanks jay Just looking through my CFG i noticed that the Lod radius is 5.5,wasn't it 6.5 in 3.2.seems that LM have shrunk it maybe to increase performance. thanks steve

Only reason i ask this question is because i'm wondering why i have blurry texures in the distance.can't be more than 5 miles away. sitting at FTX Kjac from my VC the Photoreal textures of the mountains are a blurry mess.only when i fly within a mile or two do they start to load in. I have my settings for detail at ultra (so LOD at 6.5)and just sitting there they remain blurred.could this be a prepared 3.35 problem .don't remember this in 3.2. run a stock cfg.something is wrong and deleting cfg does nothing.also reinstalled everything and still the same. any ideas thanks steve

  12. Hi mike I use the aerosoft airbus and Ezdok and mine does load to the VC. I use the default aircraft situation then pick the airbus steve

  14. sethos So you want me to recreate a screenshot using a cloudset from SKYFORCE 3D even though that has not been released yet.is that what you are asking? 1 you know that these clouds are from Skyforce 3D. 2 so how do i make a screenshot before release?? steve

Hi dave thought this was about screenshots,sorry my mistake :smile: Too be honest ive never thought twice about buying any REX products,not because i want to marry Tim or Reed,just that i like to support any Flightsim company who i think are doing innovative or next gen stuff.suppose i could be called a fanb oy of REX,after nearly 40yrs of playing drums i've been called a lot worse :smile: take care steve

In what way sethos?? check any screenshot forum you like and if there screenshots look amazing,you can bet your life there are REX textures in there,either Clouds or sky or one of the hundreds you can use. a lot of people use FEX or a number of other Sky texture packages,Vast majority use REX4 texture direct or REX ESS. so sethos put up a screenshot and where it is ,anyone you like and i'll replicate it.might not be same aircraft. steve
  18. I'm really looking forward to this :smile: I've been using the Rex essential weather engine since it came out and it's excellent,this is a whole new ball game and i'm sold already. Is that a Tornado touching down in photo 5,if it is does any other weather program do that as well?? :smile: steve

  20. i only use vector for the coastlines and primary roads and traffic.everything else is turned off. steve
  21. Dean did you update FTXcentral to add the new unified Lclookup file.could be that. you should not have to switch regions if it is working correctly.IE between Global or N america. if you have done this have you updated the orbxlibs to the latest version which is 160528 steve

I for one and very grateful to LM for saving flightsims future.think back to not so long ago when MS flight was released and Failed miserably. the talk all over the FS forums was,That's it!! no more flight sims,we're stuck with FSX and all it problems forever,no more updates just more OOM's more ctd's more inflight lockup's after flying for 3hrs on final.all these things i suffered with for what must be ten years.then came Flight and i thought woah here we go i'm saved.30 secs after installing i was shot down in flames. Now were riding high.Prepared 3.3 has raised the bar for me along with Pe11e and PTA it now looks incredible.the best flightsim i've ever owned. So please embrace it and LM,i too have maybe 10-15 older airports that won't work with a newer ground poly system.and will i be sorry to lose them eventually ...yes of course.would i trade them for a better flightsim....absolutely YES. Just my thoughts on some of the negativity surrounding the latest update :smile: sorry bit longer than it started out steve
