As you can understand I don't have any issues with PSS sounds and gauge click sounds. In fact as far I remember from the program I did it using Direct Sound 8 but I admit that could be some issues in using direct sound when there is another gauges using it. I supose that you are using the DirectInput solution and not FSUIPC solution. Try to disconnect the throttle axis in the FS menu, also in the thr.cfg try the parameter Cooperative=1.
