T/D point I don't see in my PROG page

Featured Replies

Hi pmdg team nice aircraft!

But i have a problem, when i'm reaching the top of climb point, i'm going in the PROG page and I' try to find the distance and the zulu time for the T\D point but no indication of that! The PROG page tell me only the step climb point, i'Ve read the manual and tell me to set 0 value on the step climb on the VNAV CRUISE page, I do that but the PROG page now tell me STEP CLIMB NONE and don't show me the T/D point. How can do to see the T/D point information?

Thanks

The top of descent point does not show up in the Prog page untill within 400nm of destination (or something like 400nm, maybe it was when within 400nm of T/D, I forgot)

But you will see it appear, just wait.

Oli - i would have to check on that in the manuals and flight, but I doubt that's a requirement. I doubt any RW would know their landing runway 400 miles out.

Actually we do. These days you get ATIS by ACARS on an airplane like this (but VHF still works of course)

But that is not the point.

The FMC does not start a descend at 400nm.

It just starts to show you when to start the descend on the prog page.(at what time)

If you dont put a runway and approach/Star in then the FMC cant accurately calculate top of descend.

You normally enter the expected runway for landing during preflight or soon after reaching cruise altitude.

This way you have an as accurate as possible estimate for arrival and fuel calculation.

And the Pax monitors are linked to that estimate as well, so its nice for them as well to have something halfway accurate.
