November 19, 200421 yr I don't know if I have the wrong perception here - but looking at the most popular downloads for the past 12 months in the AVSIM library and those in the FLIGHTSIM library, there seems to be a noticeable difference in emphasis. It seems to me that the ones in the Flightsim library are heavily slanted towards military a/c. Don't know why - maybe average age of the people who frequent the sites? Now lets not start any fights or bashing here - but I thought that the difference is quite interesting. I must admit to enjoying some of the military jets -- I would like to see some aspects of a military Sim incorporated into FS200X. One problem I have had when trying out military Sims demos is that all of the keystroke combinations are different to that in FS2004 . Can't be bothered re-learning what does what-- although I guess I could probably reset the keys to that used in Fs2004What say you?Barry
November 19, 200421 yr I can't comment specifically on the "most popular downloads" angle, but there are a couple of factors which should be taken into account when comparing the two sites: one, not all developers/authors post their material to both sites. This point could skew the emphasis you mention. Two, to test another observation, some time ago, I released a set of files at Avsim and tracked the number of downloads for about a week. Then I uploaded the same set to flightsim.com and a similar number of interested parties downloaded from there! So, we have two points actually: not everything is posted to both sites and not everyone visits or makes use of both libraries.
