aircraft textures

Featured Replies

I am writing this post to find out if anyone has any information on how to fix the problem of aircraft textures not displaying when running FS X after the installation of the new PMDG Boeing 777 add-on.

The only way that I can seem to get my simulator to display any aircraft textures post the installation of the new 777 is by first letting the simulator fly the little hang glider airplane after startup then moving the airplane to where I want to fly and then installing whatever aircraft it is that I wish to fly--- this is extremely tedious and on top of the tedium is the fact that it doesn’t always work. The problem is greatly exacerbated when trying to fly the 777 itself. I found somewhere someone’s solution about using the “Highmemfix=1 addition to the FS X config file--- I have 12 GB of memory in my computer but I really don’t understand how memories allocated for these programs and I have seen no great improvement since putting in the high memory fix addition to the configuration file. I have a fast computer and have only experienced this memory problem a few times in the past. Prior to the installation of the new precision manuals 777 I was not experiencing any of these issues and I am running a lot of mega scenery 2.0 scenery with absolutely no lags.

I’m sure my reading a lot of posts on the forums that this is some sort of intrinsic PMDG problem for people trying to run their aircraft on low powered computers, but my computer is not low powered and I wonder if this is just the way the 777 is--- just looking for any help with any sort of solution to this problem. Thanks to anybody who can lend a hand, I was really looking forward to flying this aircraft in my virtual airline--- hope that there’s some solution available.

Cheers
