September 16, 201312 yr Hi everyone. I am new to some of these addons such as Active Sky 2012, and I would like to know exactly what his XGauge is. Is it a custom gauge that has to be installed in the aircraft panel? If so, won't that disfigure a beautiful plane like PMDG's 737 NGX for example. Does this XGauge take up an area on the aircraft panel where another gauge should be? And finally is it absolutely necessary to install this XGauge in order to have Active Sky work? For me that would prevent me from buying Active sky if this is the case. Thank you all in advance. Edward Marchand Windsor, Ontario, Canada
September 16, 201312 yr Commercial Member No it will work without the Xgauge installed, although its a nice gauge for wx conditions. Precip, clouds, visb etc... I have mine in th NGX and T7. Its a 2-D popup gauge. There is an installation wizard for it. You can choose individual aircraft or all of them. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
September 16, 201312 yr If you use two monitors you can undock, drag and resize it for your 2nd monitor, so it doesn't interfere with your aircraft panel. Since it's basically a moving weather map, similar to the map view of Active Sky, you could just use the AS interface and don't need to install the gauge at all. ("Pretend" the AS map view is your wx radar ...) What happened to AVSIM
