IFDG PSS A320 PSS panel Pedro Oliveira FDE

Featured Replies

OK so lets start again. We now have the excellent Version 10 FDE of the A320.There are separate updates for the PSS and the IFDG aircraft. Each consists of a .air file and a replacement aircraft.cfg file.Applying the latter to the PSS aircraft will over-write all the base settings so take a back up.And a lot of people will be using the PSS panel with the IFDG aircraft, which confuses matters further. We know that in order to make the EGT display work correctly in the CFM ENGINED A320 ONLY we need to:Just us the AirED program to edit the A320 CFM .air file. Go to line 540 and put these values inEGT scale factor=1.000000EGT Temp Limit=1470.000000EGT rate of change=0.300000That will fix the high EGTThanks to Monsoon for that one.But what if anthing needs to be copied back from the original PSS aircraft.cfg file to make the hybrid work with the PSS panel?Flap settings for example? Does the PSS panel fuel system work with 2 wing tanks on either side instead of one? (i.e. total of 5 not 3)Any thoughts?

Not answering your question, but when I use AirEd line 540 says unknown. How can I add the lines you refer to?ThanksBill

HmmCan't help you there, line 540 does exist in all my A320 air files and is to do with EGTDon't know if you are familiar with Aired, the procedure is to do File Open, then browse to the aircraft directory you want, double click on the .air file you find there. Then scroll down to line 540 and click on the Plus sighn to open up the 3 data items. My problem is that I can't open any of the three items for editing, the program seems to hang. However, if you open an old air file (e.g. the original PSS one) you can right click on the main 540 Engine EGT line and copy it to the clipboard, then open the new file, e.g. the Version 10 update and paste into Line 540 there.NB again, this is for the A320 CFM powered planes only, apparently the IAE ones are OK.

Yeh I did all that and when I scroll down to line 540 it says unknown. And thats the CFM version 10 air file.No sweat, I was just wondering why my file did not have it. I am still using the old AirEd from FS98 and I dont think it has been updated. Could that be the problem?TksBill

AHH ok i think there is a new aired INI file that you need to use. At least that is what i did. I have it here in my folder. let me know how i can get it to ya.To Ailchim:Make a IFDG 320 folder. Do not alias the panel to the PSS folder. Copy and past the panel.cfg in the PSSAB-PRO and place it in your IFDG 320 folder. So then the PSS planes will behave the way they are supposed to and make the discussed modifications to the IFDG 320 folder and all the associated files

You can actually download the latest INI file for AirEd at Herve Sors' excellent sitehttp://perso.wanadoo.fr/hsors/FS_Soft/Bottom right

Thanks for the link Albaro. I was really behind in my updates. Works great nowBill

For anyone that actually needs AirEd,http://ifdg.net/data/downloads/AirEd.zipThe "official" site for AirEd is no longer online. There's also Aircraft Airfile Manager, a piece of freeware which uses the same INI file as AirEd to identify the .air file fields.www.aircraftmanager.comPick your poison
