Getting rid of FS9 default ai

Featured Replies

I have ultimate traffic but the fs9 default ai still show up. Don't really enjoy holding short of GAIA, SOAR or PACIFICA....help! How do I get rid of them?

Wanna Nuke em all? No Problem.Check your FS9/Scenery/World/scenery directory and Nuke the file called "traffic030528.bgl" and your set. Please make a backup of this file, just incase. I won't be held responsible if somethign goes wrong.Enjoy!

If you want to eliminate all of the default AI, then Paul's idea is easiest. If your goal is to remove the default commercial traffic but keep the GA flightplans, then go to the Project AI Web site. They have a utility to remove just commercial or just GA. R-

If I go with Paul's suggestion, is there GA ai provided by UT and just the FS9 default GA ai goes away? Or, can I expect not to see a single GA ai plane?

Don't quote me digipilot, but I BELIEVE there will be NO GA Aircraft at all.I have Ultimate Traffic, and I don't think I've ever seen a GA Plane with it, if you want GA mixed with Commercial, as well as Military, I hear MyTraffic is good.I'm sure there must be some GA Addons out there, maybe check out projectai.comBest of luck.

Right, UT doesn't include its own GA. Only the default GA can be chosen when you compile. So if you remove the entire stock traffic bgl, all GA AI will be gone. You're better off using the utility from PAI if you want to keep GA traffic.

Outstanding, thanks a million...

If you want excellent GA traffic, get GA-Traffic after you delete the other program. It will only create traffic at GA airfields, and not create any at Commercial airfields. If you always use commercial fields, and dont want to bother with GA, just deleting the old traffic file will actually improve your frame rates. For those who always fly GA, and never want to see commercial, they can go to Options, uncheck Commercial, and it will increase their framerates 5-6fps... Bob

Would renaming the file deactivate the default AI? Like:traffic030528.bgl to traffic030528.bgl.org

Hi. Try Tom Gibson's California Classic site for AI files and scenery, but also for great information on altering the way AI can be made to work. Fantastic

You could try that, it might work, but Traffic030528.org might work better. Personally, I just move it to another folder C:BackupFS9 . . . In fact, I move all aircraft which I do not fly to that folder, and keep only Projectai aircraft, and those created by GA-Traffic in the aircraft folder. It improves frame rates not to be using a bunch of flyable aircraft. Bob

Tried the PAI commercial traffic uninstaller...but I just can't seem to either locate, or follow, good instructions. I can't get it to work. Could someone give me some instructions on how to us the PAI uninstaller? It would be a great help.

What is Gibson's web site address?

Hi. I don't know how to create those blue things you click on to go straight to a site, but Tom Gibson site is, www.calclassic.com. i think that's it, but there is another site dealing in cars very similar! good luck:P

how in God's name did that blue thing in get in there!!!
