November 28, 200421 yr of your small to medium sized hometown airport for FS2002/2004?This is a great opportunity for you to contribute to our hobby. All released sceneries are freeware.CanUk sceneries, producers of CYWGv1.01, (Soon to be released - CYQD The Pas, MB, CYTH Thompson, MB, CYFO Flin Flon, MB, CYBR Brandon,MB, CYDN Dauphin, MB, CYNE Norway House, MB, CJV8, Grand Rapids, CYCR, Cross Lake, MB, CYXZ Wawa, ON, CYSP, Marathon, ON CYFC, Fredericton, NB) is inviting individuals who wish to see a realistic version of their hometown airport join our team.At present I am talking to Airport Managers at CYSJ and CYYG.The designers at CanUk will: 1) use GMAX, other programs, digital photos, CFS, aerial photos, airport diagrams to create a detailed airport complete with all major buildings/structures and correct ATC frequencies.2) develop realistic AI traffic based on actual routes in actual liveries (depending upon availability of such schedules, textures/repaints). Such groups as PAI already offer excellent schedules and repaints for most major carriers. We attempt to fill in the gaps by setting up schedules and AI for smaller airlines specific to your airport, again depending on availability. We have done some of our own repaints/schedules in the past. 3) package and distribute your airport to AVSIM and other reputable flightsim sites mentioning you in the release notes as a part of our team. What we ask you to do:Independently visit the airport you would like to see done with your digital camera and take many good quality digital pictures. Email the pics and airport details to me.I have personally visited over a dozen airports in the last couple years. I have never been denied access to a facility after fully explaining our group's objectives. Duty Managers and Airport Managers are, for the most part, happy to assist us in our projects. If you would really like to add some realism to your/and other's flightsim experience, and think that you could make contact with your local airport authorities and visit the facility with your camera, please post here.Should you join our group, further details will be discussed by email.Consideration of which airports we do will be based upon the best available data as well as consideration of time factors involved. We will look at each airport project on a case to case basis but will ofcourse do our best to accomodate as many requests as possible.CYWG took in the order of 3 months to complete, smaller airports can take around a week to make and some time is allowed for testing. All sceneries are sent to our Beta Test team for thorough beta testing.CanUk thanks you and hopes that you will contribute to everyone's overall flightsim experience.Adam Bentley (abent)
