November 29, 200421 yr I attempted to use an apparently unsupported screen resolution in my hardare settings and managed to create a jumbled mess of video noise and now everytime I try to load the game it is caught at that resolution. I checked my flight sim config file and it still says 1600x1200 so that is still good. I'm out of ideas short of reinstalling.
November 29, 200421 yr You mention an unsupported resolution but don't say what it is and then mention 1600x1200, were you running at 1600x1200 before the problem or is 1600x1200 causing the problem?Despite the above I would edit fs9.cfg and change the resolution back to either 640x480 or 800x600, that should get FS up and running. There is only one entry under the 'Display.device' section but make sure you only have one of those sections, sometimes FS will create more than one.HTH
November 29, 200421 yr In which hardware settings, FS?The only setting you have there is the one in the FS9.cfg. I would start with reinstalling the video card driver. That should reset the driver settings and take care of things.Or quicker rename the FS9.cfg to something like FS9.old and let FS build a new one. See what happens. If all is well you can copy stuff back step by step from the old to the new cfg file.Alex
November 29, 200421 yr It sounds as if FS is initializing in Windowed mode. If this is the case, then I believe that your desktop resolution is being used not the 1600x1200 listed in the config file. After FS loads, try clicking Alt+Enter and see if the sim looks right in full-screen mode. R-
November 29, 200421 yr I was running fine at 1600X1200 before I attempted to go to a higher resolution.I changed the resolution settings in the game itself.Everything else works fine except now when I start up FS9 the display goes goofy consequently I can't access the hardware setting screen within the game to change it back.Changing the resolution in my FS9 config didn't fix the problem.I should also mention that the config file still mentions my old video card as the "Display Device" (ie. geforce 3 ti200) when I installed a geforce 6800 two weeks ago.I've had no other problems until now.
November 29, 200421 yr RonB that did the trick thanx...Hit alt/enter then changed my screen resolution back to it's original settings...all fine now...thanx
