Grib data reloading at end of flight

Featured Replies

I have V3.21.0 after landing at end of flight I replay the approach and landing to the sim pause. I then unpause and taxi in, The loading grib data screens come on again and the slide show starts is this a bug?

No, GRIB data is only checked and loaded when you are on the ground and all weather updates are disabled on final approach in accordance with the Disable Weather Update on Approach, these settings include a Disable Weather Update For X Minutes option (normally 10 minutes from when you descend Below the specified elevation) which had obviously expired, so the LWE performed another weather update which would include a check and possible download of a later GRIB data cycle.

You should consider upgrading to the latest release or beta which no longer automatically displays the Upper report whilst downloading GRIB data. You should also consider increasing the Disable Weather On Approach timeout but may need to check to see if it is affected by the Automatic Settings first.

I have just checked and the Disable Update on Approach timeout is set to 10 minutes by the Automatic Adjustments. I have made a note to extend this to 15 minutes after we return from our holiday. If you are going to do some length replays one idea would be to disable weather updates manually via the Opus Addon menu, then re enable them once finished and if you intend continuing.
