REALAIR SPITFIRE...WOW!!!

Featured Replies

I don't believe I said anything about realism (of the FM that is). There've already been lots of good words said about the realism of the RA flight dynamics (some by a fellow whose actually flown the planes and is blown away by what RealAir has done.) I have no doubt the FM is very good in both sims. I'm just referring to the basic premise that someone thinking about buying the RA bird would be better off going out and getting IL2 instead. It seems to me that ignores the fact that a person looking at a FS9 add-on is likely looking for many different elements that just aren't even bothered with in combat sims. I doubt very much there are many people looking at the RealAir bird who don't already own FS9 and several other payware add-ons so the cost comparison really doesn't mean a whole lot. As far as the price of the Spitfire being to high - well, it cost me about $7 more than the other RealAir planes and as great as they are, the Spitfire is better than all of them so the price seems about right to me. It just may be the finest sim plane I've found and it includes a ton of innovation so afaic, it should be more costly than most other planes. I hear alot of criticism of the flight modelling in FS9 compared to other sims (IL2 included). I'm not a pilot so can't make comparisons to RW flying, but I can say that no other sim I've owned (including Falcon4 and IL2) has given me as convincing an impression of being in an aeroplane flying above a world as some of the better planes for FS9. I'm not talking about "realism" there, I'm talking about simple suspension of disbelief...

"And that is the price. $45.00 (Australian)!!?? It's just too much."The price for the Spitfire is 25 Euro. I paid around $38 US and you paid $45 Australian. The fact that we paid so much is because the value of our currencies is in the toilet, not because the Spitfire was over priced. European sellers can
