October 8, 201312 yr Everything you have listed should work fine. In my opinion building the ultimate FSX PC is gated by the fact that the software itself is CPU bound. Therefore the GPU is not entirely factored into the equation. That being said the more CPU/Memory you can throw at it the better. The software itself is dated (~2006) much of the latest processor technologies, storage, memory, etc will greatly enhance the experience. The ultimate FSX PC will be when the code is updated such that it is no longer CPU bound and can really take advantage of the GPU.
October 8, 201312 yr I wan't to create the ultimate fsx pc for my b737 home cockpit. You'll will want more than just one PC ... for example I never use "on board" GPS for any aircraft (saves on VAS and FPS), I use another tool running on a separate PC networked to a main FSX PC. For example, weather engine running on one computer, ATC running on another computer, GPS/flight tracking tool on another PC, and FSX running on one PC. The good news here is that the main FSX PC is the only one that needs to be the power house. Here is a good build, but it's overkill for FSX: http://www.maximumpc.com/dream_machine_2013 - can't use 4 Titan GPUs with FSX, maybe for P3D V2.1. $16000+ (with 4K monitor) ... notice 15TB disk space, also I think the EVO SSDs are better options for this unit. Or maybe the Digital Storm unit: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadaventumii.asp?id=842693 $10,000+ (no monitor) 4.8Ghz 4960X based. Now you did say "no budget" -- I've heard this before and for the most part people really do have a budget with very few exceptions (some enthusiast in Texas built a cockpit for about $200,000+). If you really do have a budget then I'd have a very different recommendation. Rob

October 9, 201312 yr With no budget, I'd be on the phone with CAE ordering a level D simulator. Assuming you actually DO have a budget, I'd say your build will smoke FSX. Of course, you'll need to set it up correctly following one of the comprehensive guides available (Word Not Allowed, NickN, the official Avsim guide, etc.). Otherwise you'll be posting on here again with a thread titled, "High-End PC with Low FPS...Please Help!!!!"
October 9, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the tips. I will certainly take a look at Word Not Allowed and the avsim guide. About the no budget thing. I do wan't to spent enough to really make my cockpit realistic. I think I could get a very descent pc for around 2 to 3 thousand euro's. After reading some forums yesterday I started thinking about the gtx titan. Would the 780 be good enought to ?
