Fordlandia - Ford Project

Featured Replies

Hi Good People,

Just a short heads up on a scenery project that we,  the Ford Project Team, have been working on for a couple of months.

The Historical but very much fogotten, Fordlandia of Brazil  - Henry Ford's venture into the Rubber industry.  Unfortunately the venture was a resounding failure - Henry lost over $20 million dollars in the late 20's/30's on this venture and built a very big settlement and industry.

The Fordlandia project is very close to being ready for release - just some AI and traffic to be created for the Land and Sea runways - so you should see it here at AVSIM.com in the near future.

For those that want a bit more details on the project feel free to pop on over to:

If you just want to have a quick look at the slideshow of what has been created:

Regards from Garry Smith and Edward Moore - the Ford Tri-Motor Project team.

That´s a pretty interesting scenery about this forgotten history thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks mate - was lucky to be able to find a lot of pictures of the "Fordlandia Rubber Plantation"  - mostly photo's of derelict buildings - but more than enough old pictures to be able to hopefullly come up with a meaningful rendition of the scenery for simmers to enjoy.

Never knew it existed myself until Edward discovered a couple of pictures and asked me "can we do this?" - and away we went, off on a tangent - very relevant to our Ford Project so we had to have a go.
