October 12, 201312 yr When I choose a weather theme in FSX, how can I determine which clouds are loaded? I want to use FEX to generate weather themes and I need to know how they link to the FSX weather theme. For example, I create a FEX theme using the cloud Extreme Realistic......which FSX weather theme will use it? In FSX, do I select Fair Weather, Building Storms or ?????? I would like to be able to tie each FEX cloud theme to the appropriate FSX weather theme. Any suggestions would be greately appreciated. Thx in advance.
October 12, 201312 yr Moderator They will ALL use it. When you load a theme, it relpaces ALL the clouds in FSX so when a set is loaded, it is from the last loaded theme. You could use Active Sky take advantage of the snapshot feature to save and link certain cloud sets with certain types of weather also. October 13, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the fast reply. So, if I load a stormy sky theme from FEX into FSX, all the weather themes will use it. Should I see a difference when flying with a Fair Weather theme, Grey and Rainy, etc or just when I select a stormy weather theme? My thinking was that only the stormy weather theme would be affected.
October 14, 201312 yr Moderator You can only load one theme at a time. If you load Stormy Weather and the weather is fair - the stormy weather themed fair clouds will show. Nothing changes until you LOAD another themed cloud set. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
