October 19, 201312 yr The new 777 is a summary achievement, and PMDG has seriously upped their game on several fronts. One of the most important new features that sets PMDG apart from other aircraft simulations is the "Time Compression" feature. Now, a pilot who is short on time but sick of short hops can fly cross country in a LOT LESS time than the 'real world' flight time. Of course flying 16x the maximum top speed of your aircraft in the real world would be impossible - it's ideal for the person who has other things tugging at their free time clock. What is astounding is that this feature automatically self-adjusts and slows down even to '1x (normal)' speed when needed, as in making turns on the route, etcetera. Discovering how great the time compression feature is? Just a prelude to the overall airplane itself! One marvels at the detailing of the surfaces, the way the landing gear is 'just right', the way the switches and knobs operate... a true piece of art in addition to a wonderful simulation experience. The more I fly the Triple 7- the more I love flying her. Even though the plane is a 'heavy' and huge in comparison to even the 737NGX, it's a joy to be in the left seat! Couple this airplane with the new PFPX flight planning tool (and yes, PFPX even calculates fuel loads) you can build amazing flight plans and much more. FSX has flown to new altitudes with the addition of these two fine add-ons. Combine them with something like Garmin Pilot (only has charts for USA) or EFB by AivlaSoft, and you're going to be the happiest pilot on the staff. R. October 19, 201312 yr Well 'cross-country' flights are possible in a 20 minute window, if you live in Luxemburg  But yes, she is indeed a very special bird.
