October 19, 201312 yr Hi Everyone, Just recently purchased the HOTAS Warthog and did a fresh and clean installation of FSX + Opus + AA2012 + REX OD however when i tried to program my hotas to the cockpit views from the camera control option, my joystick was not recgonised on Opus's camera option. It still sticks to the previous joystick which i used which was the Saitex X52pro. Is there anything i could do? Please assist!! Regards and Thank you in Advance Gizmo Dushantha Baduge
October 19, 201312 yr Commercial Member You must reconfigure the camera views and LCC functions that are assigned to the previous joystick. All joystick assignments are name specific so as not to be position or number specific, hence they must all be assigned with new buttons on your new joystick. Stephen Unfortunately, all joysticks are different, its not possible to automatically reassign buttons which may after all either not exist or be totally inappropriate on the new controller. The Shortcuts should be no problem, the camera views will have to be stepped through and edited. Stephen
October 19, 201312 yr Author Hi Stephen, Thank you for your reply. My apologies but how do you reconfigure the camera views and LCC functions? Dushantha Baduge
October 19, 201312 yr Commercial Member Open the Camera dialog, select each view that needs changing in turn, reassign the joystick button, click on Save All Views, then move on to selecting the next view and repeat for all views that need editing. You may want to consult the Live Camera manual on our website. Are you using Live Camera ? I assumed you were. The Shortcut controls are edited via the Shortcuts dialog in the same way as they were originally assigned. In each case the joystick input will say either Joystick X or Joystick 255 indicating that it is currently not plugged in. Alternatively plug your Saitek X52 back in, in addition to your new stick before running FSX and FSXSERVER, and then all the X52 inputs can be identified using their joystick number. The same numbering scheme as listed in the Spy window, starting from Joystick 1 onwards. Stephen Of course you must plug your joysticks in before running FSX or FSXSERVER so that the device list can be read by each program and just as important will match in each program. Opening the Spy window will display the controller list in Opus, the FSX control settings will show the FSX list, they should both match because FSX identifies controllers by number and not name through SimConnect.
