SGA Air and Freeware Egos

Featured Replies

I have been lurking here for a long time. I don't post much. But I have a problem with a group of folks that apparently allow their egos to govern their actions rather than common sense. Thats SGA. For some reason they are boycotting uploading their files to Avsim. That's dumb. Why? Don't know. All the head muck over there will say is that he hopes everyone will understand and fulfill his wishes but don't ask any questions. No explanation. Can any body explain this stupidity? Seems to me that the only ones that are hurt by this high school behavior is us, the sim community.

Howdy, counting down the seconds how long this thread will survive: 60, 59, 58, ..."Ego", indeed ;-)Cheers, Holger

With respect but why would it get dashed? It is a legitimate question and one that I would like an answer to. Really!

You also posted this on the SGA forum... To quote members of the SGA forum..."As well, the other part was that it was requested that a correction be made to some of the files and that the EULA be posted on all of our downloads that were there at the time (in the same manner as POSKY downloads) and we were flat out told no. Then to compound the issue, the AVSIM staff immediately deleted ALL files that were released by then current members SGA, including several repaints I'd done of FFX models (the T-43A and C-21A being the top two downloads that were pulled from my releases) only because my name was on them and at the time I was a member of the SGA team. Same happened with the other members of the team.""It had something to do with a real pilot doing a review on the DC10 a couple of years ago and avsim refused to post it because supposedly SGA wasn't one of the "in" groups with them, like some other groups are."It's their choice, really. They don't have to upload somewhere they don't want to.

When, and if you ever take the time to develop a/c or addons for our hobby, with the quality of SGA and others associated with them....then you can talk. They have every right to do with their products as they see fit......AND IT'S TO OUR BENEFIT, not as stated by yourself. I'm sick of attitudes like yours...bashing quality developers, people that take THEIR time so I can ENJOY mine. Back off, relax....Sorry to the rest of you at this forum about my little rant.Harry

That's a distortion, mis-statement of fact, or >>. Believe what you want to believe, but having been on the recieving end of the numerious emails that transpired, I can tell you that the above is a complete distortion. Period.Edit: Having said all the above I just want to add, I could care less where SGS wants to upload their files. That's their business and they are welcome to utilize anyone's bandwidth that will support them.

Thanks, i'll believe who I want to believe.

So someone has to "create stuff" in this "community" before they can post? Otherwise I can't say anything? That's interesting and a whole lot full of *****.

I personally could care less where a freeware developer chooses to upload his/her files to. People it's there choice. Who are we to judge where they upload them too. They are still available to the community regardless of what site they are on. Who cares what the speculation is regarding AVSIM and SGA. I appreciate both their contributions. I need to go back to lurking again. Topics like this led me to that in the first place. This thread hould have been deleted just because of the title. It's beggin for a knock down drag out :)
