Center fuel

Hello, I'm Aaron, and I was wandering, is the center fuel tank supposed to use fuel while the crossfeed valve is set crossfeed in the center fuel pumps are off? It always starts to drain when I'm descending. But it doesn't do that during climb cruise. Is this normal?

How much fuel do you have center tank? When do you turn off center fuel pumps? Do you get more fuel in left tank than in right? Then it's fuel scavenge pump transfering fuel from center to left.

Usually i ter to keep 500lbs in the center. But after landing the center tank HA reduced by half an the left tank has less fuel than the right.

Center tank continuing to drain after switching off is normal. That's the function of scavenger pumps.

 

By how much is the left less than the right? A small difference is normal.
