New user, probably stupid question

Featured Replies

I have just downloaded the demo and have a couple of questions which I hope the clever people on here might be able to help me with.

At some airports I have AES and other have GSX. I have not started using MCE for ground grew but will there be any problem when I get to an airport that is AES controlled with MCE calling GSX services?

Second question regards making scripts. Is there way to get the FO or purser to control these addons? Lets say that I want to call the purser to start boarding, she will then make sure the correct doors are open and then call GSX / AES to start boarding. Same with getting the FO to call for catering so I can put it in with the electrical setup script.

MCE already has the capability to interact with GSX & AES built-in.

By default it assumes you're using GSX, but you can change that to use AES instead.

A ramp agent will introduce himsel to you and all you have to do is request sevices in plain English

"Simon we need catering" and preso catering is delivered with doors opening the exact time the catering trucks dock-in, without you telling flight attendant to open them.

"Simon, we'd like to start boarding" (or any of the other verbiage variations)

Same with other services.

Thanks Gerald for the answer however it does not really answer my question. I have some airports that are that have AES and some that are GSX. If I set up MCE for AES in the config, start at an AES airport and then fly to an GSX airport, will MCE then change and work with that one. If I do it the other way then when I arrive at a AES airport and call for services, will I then have two lots, one from AES and one from GSX.

Secondly, I want to set up a script for the co-pilot where I say "start setting up", then he can open the doors and call for the catering straight away. If this is not possible then I can call for it and while my co-pilot is doing his set but would have been nice for him to go ahead and sort things out.

I’m not sure how things will pan out when you use both GSX & AES. I guess experimenting won’t do any harm.

There is no voice interface for the follow me car on arrival.

Only thing you can ask for is de-boarding.

If you don't like the built-in implementation, you could create custom commands in VoxKey to send specific key combos to the sim, say first to bring up AES window, or select a specific option. Then create a custom command in Voxscript to execute all those Voxkey commands in sequence.

Assuming the aircraft is fully supported, you shouldn’t worry about the doors. The cabin doors will open and close as if the flight attendants are automatically handling catering delivery. Ground mechanic will also automatically handle cargo doors for baggage loading.

Therefore, the only thing you may want to script is some sort of dialog between FO and ramp manager so that you don’t have to do it yourself.

Example: New command in Voxscript: “Make sure we get fuel and catering

In the body of the flow

Despatch we need fuel

Pause=60

Despatch requesting fuel
