November 5, 201312 yr Ive had this problem before...I cant figure out what Im doing wrong...This is what happened I was on ILS for RWY 36 at ENZV (not 100% sure about the rwy so no need to correct me there ;-) ) I was flying with AP and A/T speed engaged at 160 kts...I disengaged the AP and pressed the Speed button on the mcp to disengage the speed mode but keep the A/T armed... I got control over the throttles and slowed down to my approach speed... When at about 50 ft or something similar, the engines spooled up to about 70 n1 or something similar (probably toga). I cant understand what Iam doing wrong. this is not a hardware throttle problem, the auto throttle really kicks in... I was more than 10 kts above stall speed so I wasnt about to stall... Any tips? Thanks for your help /Niklas Eriksson Sorry about the double post, I got a service unavailible message from avsim... Please delete one of these;) Niklas Eriksson

November 5, 201312 yr Author Actually I didnt notice that... im pretty sure they said TOGA though... not 100% sure though... Niklas Eriksson
November 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member The FMA is the first thing you should check in a situation like that (and obviously fly the aircraft) Ok, here's something a little research brought up regarding the real NG In my time RHS I have seen a Captain flare too high with ARM and the TOGA function kick in (with humerous results), and also you will find an ACCURATELY flown Vref+5 at some F40 settings (a rare event!) will trigger the TOGA reversion as it can be just below 1.3Vs at some weights.. November 5, 201312 yr Author Of course, however, thats not really an answer to my question ;-) Im 100% sure I wasnt even close to a stall, and I didnt have a extreme nose up angle at all... Niklas Eriksson
November 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Of course, however, thats not really an answer to my question ;-) Im 100% sure I wasnt even close to a stall, and I didnt have a extreme nose up angle at all... You don't need to have an extreme nose up angle, I'm willing to bet this is something to do with your technique. It is kinda hard to help if you don't even know what your FMA was telling you in a critical moment like that, I'll leave it to someone else to help. Just a bit of advice, if you want help with a strange situation like that it is a good idea to post the aircrafts landing weight, actual Vref flown and most importantly Vls Regards Rob Prest
November 5, 201312 yr I disengaged the AP and pressed the Speed button on the mcp to disengage the speed mode but keep the A/T armed... I always have disconnected the A/T to give me complete control of the throttles.
